The Man Behind the Journey

Mr. Gopinath Pai, has been the driving force behind the institution since its inception, overseeing and managing every aspect of its journey. Despite being instrumental in shaping the school and its growth, he has always remained humble, choosing to let the institution’s achievements speak for themselves rather than take credit.

The Meaning

Scouting at JEM School

JEM School one of the unique school in kalasa and introduced scouts in the year 2018

Active Scout Unit

JEM School introduced scouting in 2018 and maintains an active Scout Unit affiliated with The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Chikkamagaluru. Students participate in regular activities under the guidance of trained Scout Masters.

60+ Student Scouts

Currently, around 60 students are actively enrolled in scouting, developing teamwork, responsibility, leadership skills, and community awareness.

Rajya Puraskara Achievements

In the academic year 2023–24, 20 students from JEM School received the prestigious Rajya Puraskara from the Governor of Karnataka for their excellent performance in scouting.

Continuing Excellence

In 2025–26, 25 students achieved outstanding performance and earned the Rajya Puraskara, continuing the school’s strong tradition of achievement in scouting.

Tribute

This emblem for the school was designed in 1989 by the late P. R. Bhagwat, a National Award-winning teacher. He served as a teacher in Hubli, Kalasa, and other parts of Northern Karnataka. He was an excellent Hindustani singer and a music teacher.
He was also an expert photographer and a paper artist. Even at the advanced age of 80, he travelled across schools in Karnataka, exhibiting his photographs and teaching the art of paper crafting to children.
We, the institution and our honourable staff offer our respectful salutations to the late P. R. Bhagwat, who added prestige to our school emblem by connecting spiritual light with human values.
